Pappu received a call from Childline in September of 2016 regarding an unknown boy with cerebral palsy found on the street in Tiljala. He was taken to the police station and then placed temporarily in a nursing home. Pappu found him tied to the bed and in nappies. Luckily he was able to arrange an immediate transfer and the “unknown boy” arrived at 10:00 that night in shuktara.
Subhash can eat by himself with some help. He has CP, and although he is non-verbal he can hear. As you can see from his photos, he is almost always smiling or laughing.
As is usual he arrived without a name and someone asked what was the Indian word for good fortune. David came up with Subhash. So Subhash Kumar is his name and he will always have a home at shuktara.
