Lula Bari gets an AC for their study room
Thanks to a generous donation we have been able to put an Air Conditioner in the study room at Lula Bari.
It took a couple of days to get it installed, all of which was exciting for the girls.
When it was switched on last night for the first time and the girls sat in it for a while, I told Guria and Muniya that it had been given as a gift from someone. Guria raised her hand in sign of thank you as Muniya said "Thank you".
I think Guria's ability to raise her arm like this is really encouraging. It must be due to physiotherapy, exercise and a real desire to communicate and let us know more of what she is wants us to know.

Watching a miracle at shuktara
On Thursday evening, January 21st 2016, CHILDLINE called Pappu Mishra, the Chairman of shuktara, to say there was a girl in need of a home. He went to visit her and organised immediately to take her to Lula Bari, our girls home.
She arrived with documents describing her as "Unknown". The first few days she was understandably overwhelmed by her new surroundings. The girls and staff have really made her feel at home and just a few days after her arrival it happened - she smiled!
Now she has a home at shuktara, and a name - Puja Bagh. (Click here to read more...)

Upcycled dolls from Holland come to Lula Bari
Completely upcycled dolls renamed and reclothed in vintage and brought from Holland to Kolkata by Willeke who started Stichting Help2Help.
Ellie in Holland had the idea to collect old dolls and make new clothes and give new names for each of them. She did this for our friend Willeke and her group Stichting Help2Help to raise money towards the running of our girls home which is called Lula Bari.
There are more dolls available - contact Maura at mseeds.maura@gmail.com if you would like to donate and receive your Lula Bari doll!
